Of course there are the obligatory practical jokes and when we got up this morning our car was facing the opposite way to the way we left it and with no windscreen wipers! Several pairs of wipers had been placed on one car and we had the job of identifying ours. The blame was put on Andy, one of the Welsh team with a penchant for practical jokes (shaving foam on the car of an aspiring Conservative MP which stated ?I vote Labour? and ?Gordon Brown is my hero?. Stickers on Kate and Luke?s car saying? Kate is hot? which Kate didn?t mind at all and another car wrapped in cling film). But this time it wasn?t Andy and to our great surprise one of the Danish team owned up to instigating this and even wanted to put the car on the steps! Really glad he didn?t get support for this one. Anyway once off we decided speed was of the essence3 today as it was the longest journey so motorways would be used although they are expensive. We decided to avoid the Slovenian one and head back to the ...

I've had flights delayed by weather. I've had flights delayed by mechanical issues. I've had flights delayed because the hitch connecting the tow vehicle to my plane snapped! But I've never had a flight delayed because a runaway dog was loose on the tarmac. Well, that's exactly what happened at Boston's Logan Airport this past weekend.

It seems that Choochy the poodle (like Joe the Plumber but less political and more interested in smelling other dogs' behinds) escaped from her kennel and remained rogue on the runways, taxiways and other nooks and crannies of Logan for 17 hours. Various flights were delayed while police, firefighters and airport personnel tried to corral Choochy.

Thankfully, the story has a happy ending. Choochy was lured to safety with food, treated for only minor injuries and returned to her family. And for the passengers on those delayed flights? Well, a half-hour delay is practically on-time these days. And for me? Well, I got to use that crazy photo of a poodle that I found. So, thanks, Choochy. Feel free to escape again soon.

Hello again! Sorry it's been a while since we have updated this...the pictures took ages to get sorted, we had a lot from india, there are more but we arn't uploading all of them! So we are in Singapore now. What started as a questionable city (we left the airport in very heavy rain and arrived at a crap hostel the first night), turned into a great location for holidaying. it's actually our last day here and we loved it! It is a really modern and clean city, very easy to get around on the super efficient subways and buses. One card does the whole lot so you only have to beep that on entering and leaving trians and buses and do your own thing. Our main reason for staying longer in Singapore than intended was to get our Chinese visas, which we picked up today! In the meantime, we explored different areas of the city. This included shopping centres that you could only imagine! One of our stops was to the biggest electronic outlet we have ever seen, 6 stories of ...

Welcome to Gadling's newest feature, Tuesday Travel Trivia (also called Trav-Triv, T-Cubed, or the Gadling T-party-- take your pick). Each Tuesday, I'll ask 10 brain-busting travel-related trivia questions and ask you to leave your answers in the comments. The winner, whoever gets the most right out of ten, will be recognized in the subsequent week's post as a trivia god.

Arrived Melbourne and hired car and drove out to Ballarat Great Historical town home of the Eureka Stockade We arrived in Melbourne, Tullamarine at about 6am had some breakfast at Maccas and then thought about what we might do for the ?not quite one day? this ?nothing time? we had in Melbourne. We could go shopping at Westfield Shopping Town, ,jump on a bus to the CBD ,or hire a car for the ½ day. Since we were going to the CBD when we returned in Oct the options were down to two The Kids seemed keen to shop at Westfield so we went to store our bags at the airport. Would you believe $14 dollars to store a bag that was $56 for the day just to let go of your bag for the day . So we decided to go for the remaining option? storing our bags in a car for $52 . Whats more this storage room had a motor and a steering wheel and could take us places. So we headed west to Ballarat one of the most historic towns in Australian History.home of the Eureka Stockade the birthplace of the

My daily deal for today is for the Dash Express connected GPS device. This GPS unit is different than any other unit I've ever mentioned here on Gadling.

Inside the Dash Express is essentially a mobile phone, and with this, you are always connected to the Internet (as long as you are within coverage).

By being connected, the Dash Express constantly receives updates about traffic on your route. It receives this information from a variety of sources, including fellow Dash Express users. This feature makes the Dash Express the only GPS unit on the market that can report traffic on ALL roads, not just the major highways.

In addition to traffic information, the Dash Express also offers an online address search feature (through Yahoo), plus you can send an address from your computer directly to your car (Imagine not having to write down addresses before you leave!). The unit also has access to real-time local gas prices and movie times. To make the connected services even better, you can add "Dash Apps", which are user submitted online searches. Dash Apps add powerful features to the Dash Express like speedtrap reports, local weather, and even local online Wikipedia searches.

In addition to the connected services, you also get text-to-speech for spoken commands, 3D map views, a theft deterrent option and an automatic day/night screen setting.

The Dash Express even allows you to "phone in" your destination with TellMe or 1-800-DIRECTIONS and have the address sent directly to the device!

The Dash express launched earlier this year for $399, but for just one day you'll be able to pick one up for just $199.99.

There is of course one minor caveat; you will need a monthly subscription in order to use the online features. Subscribing is optional, but without the connected Dash services, the device is just another GPS unit. Subscriptions start a $12.99, and drop to $9.99 when you pre-pay for 2 years.

The Dash Express is on sale at Amazon.com, and ships for free.

WEll, hey there all. I am currently trying to stay awake cause i may have had 10 hours sleep the last 2 days so i am tuckered out. Got off to a good start and hung out in the London airport for a few hours, walked around like a zombie. On the way to Delhi, met a really nice lady from california who was visiting her family, she was nice and gave me her number in case of an emergency. i think i looked out of it. So i must tell you Delhi was a little overwhelming, a ton of people and just a lot to take in. I was really happy to see Emma.. They have lanes marked on the roads -usually 3 across but they definately don't use them - usually drive smack in the middle of the 2 lanes. People are cutting and making their own lane - it was insanity...There really are no rules to the road, it is basically the biggest car wins. Emma and i decided to take a walk after i got into town. I'm telling you, i begin to understand how movie stars feel. We were followed around by guys ...
OMG....incredible, I have gone through every emotion today. The flights from Melbourne (8hrs) and from Singapore (5.5hrs) ran smoothyly. Singapore Airlines are a great airline to travel with. Met a lovely couple on the first leg, on their way to Bali for the 4th time, this time to get married. Also scored bonus seating allocation, the emergency row....felt like I was in first class! Second flight, met a lovely Australian-Indian called Raki. Raki moved from Delhi to Melbourne when she was 6, so praticed some Hindi with this beautiful young 24 year old! The arrival at Delhi airport was pure in your face mayhem. 1130 at night and chocked full. Baggage delay of 1 hour caused more confusion. The walk out to the arrivals hall was through a parade of sign baring drivers, some foreigners walking laps to find their name on the boards. The monsoons are still here and it was a very dirty muddy walk to the driver's car. I am soooo glad I booked a last minute transfer. o ...
So here I sit without a car. But it could be a lot worse. I could be dead. I was going through an intersection on a green light when a car drove right into me making a left turn. Crash! I looked up and there I was, stopped with a car next to me. An old guy got out, and then his wife, while I sat there, feeling somewhat dazed. I was in an accident but I was OK. That was the important thing. I tried to get out but the door was stuck. No it was locked. I unlocked it and got out, shaking a little. We were all OK. The old guy?s finger was bleeding a little. Nothing serious, but it looked deformed. He has obvious arthritis so maybe normal or maybe broken? He appears not shaken. Just unaware. They don?t apologise. Is it their fault? The p0lice arrive and take photos and statements. The lady policeman lets me sit in the back of her car and then puts me in the back of the other constable?s car. After a long time he drives me to the hospital. On the way he phones ICBC for me to get the ...
